OnePrep Test 1

OnePrep Test 1

Date: 2026-03-04
Source: OnePrep (calibrated harder than official Bluebook tests)
Math Score: 640 / 800
Raw Score: 34/44 (77%)

Reality Check

OnePrep tests are calibrated to match the difficulty of recent real Digital SAT exams, which tend to be harder than official College Board practice materials (Bluebook). A 640 here does not erase the 750 on Bluebook BT9 — but it exposes weaknesses that Bluebook didn't.

Analysis

The Elephant in the Room: Linear Equations in One Variable — 0/5

This is the most alarming result across all 7 tests. On Bluebook, this subfield was routine. On OnePrep's harder calibration, these become:

  • Multi-step word problems with unusual framing
  • Equations where the "linear" structure is disguised inside absolute values, ratios, or unit conversions
  • Problems that look simple but have subtle traps (distributing negatives, fractional coefficients, "no solution" vs "all solutions" conditions)

This is now the #1 priority for the remaining 10 days.

What Held Up

  • Geometry: 6/6 (100%) — bulletproof across all test types. No drilling needed.
  • Nonlinear functions: 5/5 — pattern recognition is strong.
  • Equivalent expressions: 2/2 — solid algebra manipulation.
  • Systems of linear equations: 3/3 — CW simultaneous solver is working.

What Slipped

  • Nonlinear equations/systems: 3/5 (60%) — this has been 3/5 or 3/6 for multiple tests. It's the persistent Module 2 ceiling.
  • Percentages: 1/2 — needs more practice with percent change, compound percent, "percent of" vs "percent greater than" traps.
  • Inference/margin of error: 1/2 — review confidence interval interpretation and sample size effects.

Comparison: Bluebook BT9 vs OnePrep Test 1

Metric Bluebook BT9 OnePrep Test 1 Change
Math Score 750 640 -110
Algebra 87% 63% -24pp
Advanced Math 86% 83% -3pp
PSDA 100% 78% -22pp
Geometry 100% 100% —
Module 1 22/22 20/22 -2
Module 2 18/22 14/22 -4

Key insight: The drop is concentrated in Algebra (-24pp) and PSDA (-22pp). Advanced Math barely moved (-3pp). Geometry is immune. The OnePrep test's harder questions disproportionately punished Algebra — specifically the "easy-looking but tricky" linear equations.

What This Means for the Remaining 10 Days

  1. Emergency drill: Linear equations in one variable. 5+ questions per day until test day. Focus on word problem setups, coefficient traps, and "no solution" conditions.
  2. Continue Nonlinear equations/systems. This was already a priority — don't let up.
  3. Add Percentages and Inference drills. 2 of each per day.
  4. Don't touch Geometry. It's perfect. Maintenance only.
  5. Double all daily exercise counts. The harder difficulty exposed gaps that won't close with the current workload.
  6. Keep taking OnePrep tests. Bluebook comfort ≠ real-test readiness. The calibration gap matters.

Mistakes to Review

  • All 5 Linear equations in one variable questions — understand WHY each was wrong
  • 2 Nonlinear equations/systems questions missed — concept or computation?
  • 1 Percentages question missed — was it percent change or percent "of"?
  • 1 Inference question missed — confidence interval or sample size?
  • Module 1: which question was wrong? Which was omitted?
  • Module 2: which 7 questions were wrong? Which was omitted? Time management?
